It seems like I need to achieve something to feel happy, complete. This discontent is what is pushing me towards social media, I need to feel some pleasure, some contentment, be it watching political videos that attack, humiliate, ridicule those who think or have different ideas just so I can feel superior, good about myself for having better ideas or, to anesthetize this feeling by distracting me, making me forget about the world for a few seconds.<br /><br />Through desires you will never achieve mental peace, you will never achieve mental stillness, you will never achieve contentment. The cycle of desire is infinite. Even when you manage to fulfill it, another desire takes its place and the cycle continues endlessly. When does this achieve peace? When will this come to an end? When will it be enough?<br /><br />Nothing is enough for you. You already have a job, a house, a car, a family that you love and support you. Of course nothing you have is perfect, but isn't it enough? The basics are enough. Don't fall under the spell of desires. But don't hate them. They are natural, they exist. It is you who cannot enter into their charms. Simply remember that behind the desire there will always be the endless cycle of need. When one is reached, another takes its place and this continues infinitely. So why get into the wish cyle? This does not bring you mental peace, contentment, much less a feeling of sufficiency. He said that about matter, atoms, etc. However, I wonder if this also doesn't apply to our consciousness (which is produced by capturing data by the sensory organs) and to our feelings. An easy example of what I think is using the pixel idea of digital images. Each image is made up of pixels. Therefore, pixels are the atoms of digital images. And, if you see something, this mental image is also made up of pixels and these pixels are reused by everyone who has consciousness. In this case, would we have a shared consciousness?
