"content": "Many of the old anime from the 80-90s that's considered today the great classics and had great success would have past almost unnoticed if they were released today, and viceversa. In the 90s you had access to only a few anime, curated to only the best of each season.<br /><br />So logicaly, if something like \"evangelion\" or \"cowboy bebop\" came out, you saw it because it was one of the few things avaliable to watch in the west. You didn't have a wave of harem isekais making hard to find the good anime of each season.<br /><br />Now you have access to every anime, like 50 each season, and you have to decide a few to watch. Most ppl just stick with the mainstream battle shonens/bromance/isekai of the season, and ignore the more serious works that would be the \"evangelion\" of the time.<br /><br />If Eva or similar works were released today they would probably just garner a relatively small group of fans among the adult viewers and maybe become considered a cult but would not become succesful with most anime fans and nowhere near their success in the 90s.<br /><br />In a similar way, many modern anime, that are precisely buried by the mainstream ones, would have been the \"evangelion\" of their time if they had been released on the 90s. "content": "One thing that came good of Mass effect 3 awful ending was it helped end the \"western rpg vs jrpg\" war. It got many ppl disilusioned with rpgs with branching choices, and out of this fake narrative that linear rpgs were inferior and \"not real rpgs\".<br /><br />To do a good story you need control over it. The less control you have, the less a good story you can make. The more choice the players have, the less control you have. In a game were the player chooses all the time, you can't write shit. Lots of ppl found out that in ME3.<br /><br />Funny thing, i predicted that before ME3 came out. I said me3 would be the game that deciced the war, because it would show if it was possible to do games with branching choices that had good writen conclusions for the branches. It did not XD.<br /><br />People hate Bioware for many things, but for me their biggest crime will always be how they started this idea of Jrpgs being inferior, and they did it on purpose, with very agresive advertising shaming Jrpgs, and their devs making open comments denigrating this games.<br /><br />Bethesda was another one who contributed to this stupidity, they did that ad with protesters having signs with lines bashing Jrpgs and saying they're not real rpgs and shit.",

Devolution of powers is the best decentralization tool we've got. The USA got it right.<br /><br />Giant supercorps running everything, an all-powerful state running everything, all economic activity collectively controlled, it all leads to the same end. This is how socialism leads to fascism. Any ideology that calls for \"collective action\" will trample the individual.<br /><br />TRUE decentralization is not the democratic ownership of the means of production, where the individual can simply be out-voted. It's empowering each person to create their own means of production for their exclusive use. It's small businesses vs collectivized plantations.<br /><br />Any time a polite, well-meaning socialist tells you they 'just want workers to own the means of production', centralization is always the end result.<br /><br />Empowerment is not \"co-owning\" a business with 10,000 other people that you may not even care about.
