"content": "OK, well, I'm back from the orthopedic doctor. The X-rays were not good. Basically, I have bone grinding on bone in my hip socket. I was originally going to push off surgery for the Summer of 2025, but I think I'm going to try and schedule something for around the beginning of the year.<br /><br />For those who are not aware of the story thus far: for nearly a decade or more, I've had a problem with my hip. Recently, I've started going to a chiropractor for an issue with extreme Sciatica pain - basically, nerve pain that spirals from the buttocks all the way down to the foot. I went and had an x-ray taken earlier this year, and I was diagnosed with severe hip arthrosis. Arthrosis is like arthritis, but there's no swelling at the joint - the cartilage is just being worn away. This is most likely the result of being overweight, but also the fact that I sit more than 12 hours a day. I write software for a living, so sitting and writing all day? Well...duh.<br /><br />When sitting or when the hip swivels, the affected leg shoots out at a 30-degree angle.<br /><br />The chiropractor was able to address the Sciatica. The hip? It was either shots into the joint, physical therapy, or a hip replacement. Well, the joint is WAY too far gone for shots or physical therapy. We were hoping to delay surgery until the summer of 2025 when my wife had her school summer break. Alas, that's not in the cards. At all.<br /><br />As for the conclusion to The Revenant and the Cult (book 2)? I just got done with the last round of revisions. Audiobook production starts in November. Hopefully, the cover art can be started soon, and I'm about to talk to the book formatter about her schedule. I don't need to be up and walking for any of this. The book will go out as scheduled. I'm targeting a March 3rd release date.<br /><br />Nothing is really going as I planned...which is par for the course, unfortunately.<br /><br />So, that's what's up. The hip replacement shouldn't stop me from writing.<br /><br />I'll update everyone as things progress.",

"content": "I got 1500 words down today in addition to creating an encyclopedia of names of places and events for book #5. In my head, this story is really shaping up - at least the first half of it. I have a bunch of ideas and some really cool scenes, the details of which I have yet to work out. But, it's going to be a fun ride.<br /><br />Once again, this book could be split into two parts, I think I'll release it as a single, whole book this time. I was on with MasterSwagKing (YouTube) last night, and we had some discussion about THE WIZARD'S STONE. I've always liked Odo as a character even though some didn't. In some ways, he reflected parts of me when I was younger. It made writing that story easier, if not a little therapeutic. And now as I write an older version of Odo, I'm still really enjoying the character. And, I intend to pull some of his character that I was trying to convey in THE WIZARD'S STONE, clarify it a little, and put it on display.<br /><br />As far as the second book in THE REVENANT AND THE CULT series: all of the edits have been applied. I'm starting on another read-through, and adding a short foreword (I told myself I wasn't going to do one this time, but I changed my mind). Once I'm done with these, it's off to the audiobook narrator and the interior formatter.<br /><br />Maybe I'll work on a new video this weekend. I need to do one for the YouTube channel.<br /><br />And that's all for now.",
