There are two great versions of this song (I'll post the second original in the comments which sports a cool live cut video). Both have unique stylings, but this one is slightly more polished in production and has a fuller sound dynamic, although the original cut is always a treat for me to listen to. It was simply a fun song that Daniel Ash originally didn't take too seriously until its popularity exploded on alternative dance floors across North America and beyond. The atmosphere that permeates through the opening sequence from the masterful insightful electronics sets the stage for the second movement and beyond. It really captures the melancholy of that rainy day so perfectly. And then the final electronic chords falling away one by one like flailing little bees... God I love it! \n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mqfNcnkquU\n@unblinkingeye @thinwhiteaxe",

Yes it's simple and repetitive, but it offers a unique sound and a strong bassline that keeps me hooked. Ash's dreamy vocal approach is also effective in giving the song a melodic counterbalance to the subtle Spanish guitar fluttering in the background. Then the song kicks it up a couple notches with the distinct growling plucking bass, the guitar feedback of Ash and his chanting of \"I love you like me love me not!\" according to the published lyrics. But I swear, the first time he sings the chorus he instead says \"I hope you like me, love me not!\" (which makes a bit more sense to me) as the other 2 times he sings it sound distinctly different. Let me know what you think on the matter or if I'm just dreaming.<br /><br /><a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1Ase-OKASo\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1Ase-OKASo</a><br /><a class=\"u-url mention\" href=\"https://www.minds.com/unblinkingeye\" target=\"_blank\">@unblinkingeye</a> <a class=\"u-url mention\" href=\"https://www.minds.com/thinwhiteaxe\" target=\"_blank\">@thinwhiteaxe</a>",
