"content": "Imo, one of the best ways to defy what's happening all across the globe right now is to be as self reliant as you possibly can. We can't all be preppers..mostly due to funds and circumstances like age, health and location. We're an older couple but lucky enough to have a small acre here. We moved in last December and that acre was a blanket of brambles (thorned blackberries) so slowly we've been clearing them all by hand and using raised beds (typically heavy, clay Irish soil) and no dig beds to grow food. Here is a vid of the beginning of the latest. One warning I mention...it isn't just food shortages that are looming. The powers that be *really* do not want folks being self sufficient. Compost and seeds are becoming harder and more expensive to obtain where we are. Just a head's up. Get both whilst you can.<br />Even if all the space you have is a windowsill salad crops can be grown and every mouthful of food you can create your own self takes at least a little bit of power away from those who would have us all slaves to the State. (sorry if no-one understands my accent. I'm Scots born!)",

"content": "RE: Greta's virtue signalling pleasure cruise.<br /><br />For those who haven't heard about this latest piece of lefty environmentalist virtue signalling I'll keep it brief.<br /><br />A Swedish teenaged girl took a cruise on a $4 million yacht from Plymouth to the USA to lecture Americans about the evils of climate change and air travel using such terms as \"you need to panic\" in relation to environmental issues. All this while smugly claiming she doesn't try to tell people what to do.<br /><br />The rank hypocrisy of this trip is, of course, self evident. Your team of 6 must now fly back to Germany and from reading various sources they don't even have the good grace to share a plane meaning more than one flight back up to a total potential of 6. Also, have you even seen the carbon footprint of those massive yachts? Yeah, they come out the factory just as dirty as planes, trains and automobiles.<br /><br />This indoctrinated, hypocritical, scare monger, stern faced teen has been nominated for a Nobel peace prize and is being used as a poster child for an environmental campaign [image attached].<br /><br />But hey, as is typical for smug liberals. 'One rule for thee and none for me'.<br /><br />It's just so funny that people who claim to be all about the environment and what not will happily chug down over priced coffee, grown in a foreign country in an area of land that had the forest cleared to make way for a field of coffee plants. Flown or shipped into the country from half way around the world. Served in a plastic cup (sometimes paper) with a plastic top. Both of which they will probably not bother recycling.<br /><br />And don't get me started on so called \"green\" products. Most of which as guilty of the same. Oh you've got a \"green\" case for your iphone made out of wood? Please, never look up where and how that wood came to be used for that. You'd be horrified.<br /><br />I, for one, am a huge fan of homesteading, permaculture and autarky, the idea that a nation should aim for self-sufficiency as much as possible.<br /><br />You want to make an actual difference to the environment? Grow your own food. Create your own energy via solar and wind if you can. Collect and store rain water for personal use. Avoid the use of and purchase of things that contain plastic in any form as far as is reasonable. Always aim for local produce when shopping as opposed to internationally shipped products. Avoid driving and international travel as far as is reasonable.<br /><br />Want to go even further? Compost any and all the things that you can. Bathe and shower using only water and limit the use of soaps to times when you actively need to kill bacteria on yourself or remove non water soluble substances (after use of rest rooms, before food prep or consumption, been working on cars etc.). Yes, your body will do just fine. Humans didn't evolve to need to be slathered in artificial chemicals from a plastic bottle with scents collected and shipped from even corner of the globe just so you can have 5 minutes of smelling something in a shower. Never underestimate the effectiveness of physical agitation in cleaning. It is far superior to chemical sterilization. Want to help that along? A hand full of natural, unprocessed salts works fine as a scrub or a soak.<br /><br />Let's get nostalgic. Microplastics are one of the biggest threats to the environment. These are tiny particles of plastic that make their way into the worlds water, they get eaten by plankton, which is eaten by fish, eaten by bigger fish and then by humans and other animals. These things exist as a result of plastics dumped into the wild or flushed down the toilet. A large portion of which is beauty products used mainly by women.<br /><br />If only we had a way of avoiding things like that.<br /><br />If only we could eliminate the use of things like plastic bottles for things like milk.<br /><br />If only we had some sort of system where we could put it in glass bottles and maybe have someone who delivers it, fresh to your door, collects the bottles, returns them to a factory, has them cleaned, sterilized and refilled thus massively reducing the carbon footprint of the whole affair. They could even deliver other things like eggs, fruit juice, butter.... "content": "Ok...well..first ever post here. I'm here because I'm tired, like others, of YT censorship. I'm not particularly politically correct, I like to speak my mind (politely) and believe we're entitled to our opinions. I don't have \"white guilt\" and am proud of my Irish/Scots/Icelandic/Germanic blood and heritage and believe that doesn't make me racist...I'm not against anyone being proud of their heritage, I just need people to quit telling me I should be ashamed of mine.<br />I'm heathen, from a heathen family. Next year I turn sixty. Nothing much phases me these days aside from the fact the majority of people are now allowing the elite minority to hold them prisoners in their own home because of financial \"reset\" that'll have masses starving to death and made homeless.<br />Our ancestors wouldn't have done that. I don't know why we do.<br />I'm a Hermit, a Recluse, and am looking to go as largely as possible off grid over the next two years.<br />I occasionally make (very boring) vids. I live in Ireland with my husband and daughter. My daughter's transgender. Anyone having any issue with that, just steer clear of me, walk on by, that way we'll avoid any unpleasantness. I love her, end of.<br />We're lucky enough to have a small cottage and acre of land so we're trying to become as self sufficient as possible.<br />Do I want to shut the outside world out? Yes.<br />Why am I still online then? Because I still have a tiny, miniscule hope that the majority of people will wake up (not \"woke\" shit) properly and sort out our respective governments, the folks pulling their strings, and return at least some of our freedoms to us.<br />Yup. It's a tiny thing. But it's there...",
