"content": "TOOTHACHE:\n\nThe torment did first begin \nWith devouring of sweet saccharine.\nWhen those pleasures, rare and syrupy, \nBecame embedded in his cavity.\nThose soft dainties, desires of his youth, \nAgedly rankled his un-wizened tooth \nWith visions, filling him with scare, \nOf his mouth agape on a dentist's chair;\nHis panicked mind could simply not prepare \nFor the mass inhalation of narcotic air.\n\nHe thought himself to not exist \n(So needless would be a dentist) \nBut, incessantly, his pain further throbbed, \nWhilst lamenting in vain, he further sobbed.\nMore tears rushed forth as his dream was killed \nWhen reddened became the water he swilled.\nSuch sights, the curse, it would concoct \nSo that his festering tooth could further rot.\nWith mounting paleness, his sweat ran hot, \nLearning his tooth's extraction could not be stopped...\n\nBut with the elapsing of time, \nThe dentist coaxed him to recline.\nPain, it lurked, his mind grew jittery - \nTill pliers yanked the prize of victory:\nAn instant reversal of his glum frown; \nThe most bothersome, pearly, candied crown.\nNow it all now seems so infantile \nTo have conjured up reasons to be hostile; \nNow soothed, blessed, in jest, with a gapless smile, \nHe quips he won't be eating sweets for a while.\n\n#poem #poet #rhyme #poetry #poetrycommunity",
