"content": "I haven't noticed too many posts about Thanksgiving, & even though 2020 has been an extremely difficult year, there is much to be thankful for. If you're reading this, you're still alive, you have internet access of some sort & even though our country is in upheaval, we still have more freedom than a lot of people in other countries. God is good all the time & is working for us even when we can't see what's going on behind the scenes. I believe there is a great deal of spiritual warfare going on over this great nation of ours & this is our time to be in prayer.

You may be in a place that you're having a difficult time finding things to be thankful for. Here's one Scripture I think can help if we take it to heart:

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. - (Psalms 100:4)

How, pray tell, is this going to help us, you may ask? If we concentrate on the things we have that we can be thankful for, the complaints have to work overtime to make it to the forefront of our minds. Sometimes, if I'm really having a hard time concentrating on being thankful, I pull out a piece of paper & pen & write down all the good things in life that I can be thankful for. There are times, I even write down the times that I went through extreme pain as a blessing because it was during those times I grew as a person along with surviving. It brings to mind how God was with me every step of the way & like the children of Israel, I was brought out of the wilderness into the promise land. There is purpose in pain & thanksgiving in all things.

What are you thankful for today? God bless you & keep on pressing forward. Things may be hard, but our God is greater, stronger & has a perfect outcome for each of us!

",

"content": "I'm in the process of leaving Face Book & my son recommended that I check out Minds. I have a lot to learn here & hope that some of my friends & family members join me, but I'd really like to make some new friends now that I'm here. I'm no Spring chick but not completely over the hill yet. (I suppose how you view me is how young or mature you are. Ha!)

I love to laugh so like good jokes, including some corny ones & comic strips. I also love God & His Word & post a lot of Scripture. My posts are meant to encourage not preach. I'm not a Bible thumper & am not into arguing with someone to try to get them to Heaven. I say what I feel the Holy Spirit is leading me to say & leave the rest up to Him. He knows you better than you know yourself & ultimately if you don't believe in God or Jesus, your argument is with Him. Not me.

Quotes & writings stating that the universe guides us irritate me, for the universe is part of God's creation. It is He who made us & all that we see & even things we can't see with the naked eye. The Bible even talks about people worshiping creation rather than the Creator & that has become so evident today. It saddens me that so many will believe a lie over God's Word which is truth. Jesus said, \"I am the way, the truth & the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.\" John 14:6 If God said it, I believe it! Period.

Physically, I'm facing a lot of challenges. I went blind in my left eye in 2016 & the condition that robbed me of my sight in the eye showed up in my right eye in 2018. Somedays, I don't see well at all. I receive injections in my eyes regularly, & after the injections I can't see much for a few days. I've also noticed that I'm a bit color blind, which is difficult for me because I once painted & dabbled in other forms of art. My handwriting is also terrible these days as I can[t distinguish where lines are on the paper & sometimes I end up writing on top of what I've already written. You'll most likely see typos in my writing on the computer due to not being able to see well enough to correct them. I once edited other people's writing & now I don't do all that great on my own work. I hope that you will forgive my errors. Being sight challenged has truly taught me the importance of walking by faith rather than sight.

I love music & was very active in music ministry before several challenges arose in my life & in those of several I love. I still sing to the LORD, but He & my dog, Buddy, are usually the only ones that hear me these days. That doesn't bother me. I never have liked being the center of attention.

Some people complain & give up during trials. I guess I've got a stubborn streak in me that won't allow me to do that. I look at each day as a new beginning, sometimes it's a good one, sometimes not, but it is my prayer that my God is glorified always & no matter what, I know that He is working all things together for my good because I love Him & have been called according to HIS purpose.

May the LORD bless you richly!
Terri",
