Something that really has been boiling deep down inside of me, that I want to get off my chest. So,I hope some of you will understand where I am coming from. I wanted to say this on Twitter, but because how very limited the writing space for it is, I thought why not went out my frustrations here.
So here we go.
As some of you know, that I love animation, I love gaming, I love drawing and all that jazz. For a while I have been watching older western animated shows AKA cartoons from my DVD/Blu-Ray collection. And comparing to a lot of stuff that has been coming out recently, I'm not very happy with the current changes & directions a lot of the things have been going forward.
A lot of stuff has been pretty rough, even before the COCID-19 BS. A lot of western companies these days think more about profit, then anything else. I understand that money is important, so that the buisness & your lively hood could be better. But when you become too power hungry & greedy, that is when things go sour.
As some of you know, my dream is to create an action orianted animated series, because I myself have been growing up with plenty of action shows that tell compelling stories & didn't talk down to kids like they are stupid. Shows like Batman Beyond, TMNT 2003, Xiaolin Showdown, Teen Titans (2003), Generator Rex, Spider-Man The Animated Series, etc.
These shows and some of the comedy ones have helped me get through some very difficult paths during the darkest times of my childhood & for that I thank them and the creators who made these amazing shows. I want to bring back such feelings of epic story telling about heroism, looking for a purpose, doing the right thing, drama, etc. for future generation of children. The problem I have, is that western companies don't want to bring out such compelling story telling anymore. And instead, they start to listen to social media too much & make or remake shows & movies, just for the sake of money and to please an audiance that don't even watch these shows for the story or actual compelling character development. Instead,, they only care about shipping. Now, don't get me wrong. Sometimes I myself enjoy some romance myself, as long as it is executed & done right. For example: my favourite ficitional pairings are Kim Possible & Ron Stoppable, Robin & Starfire, Peter Parker & Merry Jane Watson, etc.
But now days, it feels like people won't be satisified, unless everything & everyone you care about is LGBTQ and if it isn't, then you will be treated or called as the worst human being on Earth. Now, I have nothing against LGBTQ. If some people chose to be gay or lesbian or whatever, then that is their life choice & these people can do whatever with it, as long as it doesn't harm other people in the process.
But these people also have to keep in mind, that not everyone is or can be LGBTQ, because if everyone around the world were in the same sex relationship, then you might as well say goodbye to humanity as a whole.
Now, why do I bring this up? Is because in my action cartoon story, I will make my main character a straight white male, because I choose it so and one of the villians in my story is a power hungry, world dominating lesbian, that wants to create a world in her own perfect image, but that would lead to mass genocide & having the world itself slowly die out from lack of re population. So the hero has to make a decision to stop that villian in the present, so that horrific future doesn't happen.
There is more to my story, then that, but I don't want to spoil anything further.
But the problem I think would be the fact that people in social media or whatever will start acting like rabbit dogs, by saying that a woman, much less a lesbian woman, can't be evil & all her past evil deeds are justified, because she is a lesbain & also the fact that I hate LGBTQ people, which isn't something I said. Because I want to make a show just for fun to teach kids that not everyone, including if they are lesbian or not can't be redeemed & not all people around the world can be just fogiven, especially with what have they done with their own actions.
I just feel like these days, good entertainment is slowly crumbling away & it makes me heart broken. Now, some people would say that anime should be the next solution. But, I will say this, so don't get mad at me, because this is my own personal opinion on the matter. Anime is great, I can't deny that. I grew with some anime in the past & I have much appreciation for it, like I did with western animation. But anime can get you so far. Sometimes I want to watch things with good voice acting & also with a language that I am more familiar with. Sure, anime has Dubbing, but not all English Dubs are good. And I know that from personal experiance.
*flashbacks of Digimon Adventure 02 dubbing*
And not all anime are in my taste. I feel like too many anime these days use female fan service as a selling point, which is something I myself have been guilty experiancing in the past by watching animes such as High School DXD & Rosario + Vampire. I have nothing against fan service myself, but I feel like too much of it can get on some peoples nerves. So nowdays, I just try to stay away from such animes & enjoy watching animes such as Hunter X Hunter, Blue Excorsist, One Punch Man, ec. I'm more of a seeing cool action & very well written story driven kind of guy.
So yeah, I feel like I just wrote a whole ass essay, but I just felt like writing this. I feel like kids deserve better content, then they are getting now days. More & more it feels like animated shows from the west are made for people who only care about shipping & race and nothing else. Kids won't understand that kind of stuff or they just don't care about it, because they want good content to make themselves entertained & be inspired for the future. Because, without REAL heroes, I feel like kids in today's generation are slowly, but surley are becoming dumber & more less excited/happy/inspired. Not to mention how about giving kids better animation, character models instead of using the same Steven Universe or some people call it the CalArt's art style. Remember the days when people in the west made anime inspired shows like Ben 10 (2005), Megax XLR, Thundercats (2011) and many others like it? Instead of cancelling those shows for stupid reasons, how about giving them proper endings & conclusions, instead of cancelling those shows & remake them in the worst way possible? I'm still personally not over about Spectacular Spider-Man's cancellation, because it was such a great show. Sigh.
Anyways, that's all for now. If you can, reply or retweet this & tell me what you guys think of all of this? I hope I got my message across somehow.",
