"content": "German WWII 1st Class Merit Cross With Swords<br />A truly remarkable piece!<br /><br />This cross was issued during the 2nd world war and could be awarded to military personnel and civilians alike.<br /><br />This award was created by Adolf Hitler in October 1939 as a successor to the non-combatant Iron Cross which was used in earlier wars.<br /><br />This one would have been awarded to a soldier for exceptional service and is in fairly good condition though signs of wear & age are certainly present.<br /><br />The pin on the back is marked “4” meaning it would have been created by Steinhauer & Luck in Ludenscheid.<br /><br />I have more like this for sale on my website so if you are interested in such things please visit <a href=\"https://authenticantiquearms.co.uk/\" target=\"_blank\">https://authenticantiquearms.co.uk/</a><br /><br /><a href=\"https://authenticantiquearms.co.uk/product/german-wwii-1st-class-merit-cross-with-swords/See\" target=\"_blank\">https://authenticantiquearms.co.uk/product/german-wwii-1st-class-merit-cross-with-swords/See</a> less",

"content": "From the LaRouche Organization's EIR Alert:<br /><br />Ukraine’s History of Bombing the Kakhovska Hydroelectric Dam<br /><br />June 6, 2023 (EIRNS)—The Kakhovska Hydroelectric Power Plant (KHPP) has been attacked repeatedly by Ukraine over the past year. In late February 2022, Russian forces in Crimea made a priority of capturing the dam, as it had been the source of most of Crimea’s fresh water for decades, via the North Crimean Canal. However, beginning in 2014, Kiev had blocked off that canal. Today’s bombing destruction of the KHPP again cuts off Crimea’s fresh water.<br /><br />Ukrainian forces, in August 2022, used American HIMARS rockets to shell the KHPP, though no major damage occurred. The deputy director for reconstruction of the KHPP described, as reported by Sputnik: “At the moment we have three hydroelectric units in operation; there were four of them before the strike near the northern side. We work in a very dangerous environment. Of course, hostilities near the plant are unacceptable, it is a strategic object....”<br /><br />On Oct. 21, 2022, Russia’s UN Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia issued a letter to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council in Russian and English: “I would like to draw your attention to the plans of the Kiev regime to destroy the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric dam in Kherson province. In particular, Ukrainian forces are considering launching sea mines downstream the Dnieper River or a massive missile strike. We are also registering air strikes targeting the locks of the electric power station with the intention to raise the river level.<br /><br />“Such a reckless Ukrainian attack would result in catastrophic flooding of the nearby territories and irreparable damage to the city of Kherson itself. It might cost thousands of innocent lives. The authorities in Kiev and their Western backers will bear full responsibility for all the consequences of such a devastating scenario.<br /><br />“To avoid such a threat to civilians, a large-scale evacuation of citizens from the right bank of the Dnieper River is currently being carried out by Russia.<br /><br />“I urge you to do everything in your power to prevent this heinous crime from happening.”<br /><br />In December 2022, the Washington Post was told by head of Ukraine’s Operational Command South Maj. Gen. Andriy Kovalchuk that they had “conducted a test strike with a HIMARS launcher on one of the floodgates” of the dam. And as early as May 4, Novaya Kakhovka Mayor Vladimir Leontyev had complained that efforts to repair previous strikes on the dam were being prevented, due to ongoing attacks by Ukrainian troops.<br /><br />The only so-called evidence that Kiev has offered for their naked claim that Russia blew up its own dam is Ukrinform’s characterization of today’s Foreign Ministry statement: “It recalled that the terrorist attack on the Kakhovka HPP was previously intensely discussed at the level of the occupation forces in the Kherson region and propagandists on Russian television, which indicates that it was planned in advance.” However, it fails to mention that the “intense discussions” have been about Ukraine’s attacks against the dam over the last year.
