These tips I am sharing our thing is I would personally do if I were a cot in these kind of events. You would obviously want to get to first responders to be taken care of.
.
Having a real gear is better than doing this 10 out of 10 times. But for this post we are going to focus on chemicals. For starters we will want something that is resistant to liquid. Something like a raincoat or a poncho type of material that makes liquid fall off of your body rather than be absorbed is highly recommended. Even using plastic bags over you is better than nothing.
.
Second, you will want to cover your hands with a similar type material. The thought process behind this is adding layers that the chemical will have to go through before It gets to your respiratory system. This won’t stop the agent but it might slow it down slightly.
