"content": "I never understood why people always say \"Wow, I can't believe this site is free\" on places like Facebook and Twitter.<br /><br />Newsflash, it's not free. It already cost you your privacy and now its starting to cost you your freedom of speech. <br /><br />Their businesses are based on ad-revenue. You can sell more ads if you have more data to target and less controversial content to place ads on. To get more data to target, you invade everyone's privacy. To get less controversial content to place ads on, you censor people and demonetize them.<br /><br />While many people here put their nose up on the concept of Minds+, it is a real business model that can truly help a company like Minds survive. Not to mention we share 25% of the revenue back with you (on top of the token rewards). <br /><br />Minds does not spy on you or censor you for legal speech, therefore making us far less attractive to mainstream advertisers. So our revenue model relies on you, our community. "content": "There has been a lot of feedback over the changes we made last week to the engagement rewards, both positive and negative. <br /><br />While some of you disagree with the change, it has already drastically improved the feeds and ensuring that fraudulent channels are not gaining a large share of the reward pool inauthentically, and authentic users are earning more. So while our solution is not perfect, it has significantly protected the economy more than before, as it is now much more costly for bots or spammers to manipulate the system. <br /><br />After doing my best to sort through the comments, it seems that there are two main areas of concern that we need to work to find a solution for. <br /><br />1. Make it easier to buy Minds+ or Pro with tokens (<a href=\"https://gitlab.com/minds/engine/-/issues/1941\" target=\"_blank\">https://gitlab.com/minds/engine/-/issues/1941</a>)<br /><br />2.
