period, a month, three months, and sometimes a year.<br /><br />Long term goals are set to be achieved within a period of five, ten years, or a lifetime<br /><br />The last one is weekly or daily goals,<br /><br />My daily to-do list revolves around reading, academic activities, watching educational videos on YouTube, creating content, checking my emails, and so on.<br /> These are the main activities that contribute to my growth<br /><br /> A goal must attain five criteria <br /><br />*It should be specific <br />Your goal should be clear and concise, If your goal is to become healthier, you should also state what area of your health you want to get better at, for instance, I want to lose weight<br /><br />*It should be quantified <br />Your goal should be a specific measurement or number, e.g I want to lose 10 pounds<br /><br />*It must be attainable <br />Goals are meant to drive you to take action, do not set goals that will drive you away from your dreams, your goal should be a realistic one.<br /><br />*It should be flexible <br />Sometimes, circumstances might be such that you will need to make a change, make sure that your goals could reflect the change<br /><br />*It should be set to achieve at a particular time <br />Your goals should have a time limit, the reason is to spur you to take action quickly.<br /><br /> HOW TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS FASTER<br /><br />*Write it down<br /><br /> Don't let your goals exist only in your mind, Pen it down, you can get a book to write everything you want to achieve, either your monthly goals, lifetime goals, or daily to-do list.<br /><br />*Have an accountability partner<br />An accountability partner is someone who understands and believes in you.<br />Can be a family member, your spouse, or anyone you trust or you can hire an accountability coach, The reason is to establish support and encouragement, and also have someone who can get you back on track when you are distracted.<br /><br />*Constantly visit your goals<br />You should always remember your goals at least twice daily thinking about them often helps you increase the desire to achieve them.<br /><br />*Affirm and visualize <br />Read it out loud, feel how you will feel when you finally achieve it, see it in your mind, imagine yourself doing that thing you've always wanted to do, visualize yourself in that place you've always wanted to travel to, believe you can achieve it and you will realize it.<br /><br />So when you are less busy today, make a list of 100 things you want to achieve, organize it into long term and short term, analyze the ones you want to achieve this month, next month, next three months, next year, next five years, next twenty years, and throughout your lifetime, <br /><br />Make a plan to mentioned something I found profound but true. <br /><br />When dealing with challenges in our lives and we feel like giving up, if the goal to succeed is all about us, there is usually the tendency to give up. <br /><br />However, when the goal is beyond ourselves, when the desire to complete the race is about helping others, enabling them to benefit from our triumph, we usually succeed. I know it is true because for many years, I worked from my comfort zone. <br /><br />I have a lot of knowledge on several areas but was not getting the level of results I wanted. Why? I didn’t implement the knowledge gained. <br /><br />I was being lazy. <br />Too lazy to do the work required. <br />I procrastinated on taking acti on. <br /><br />However, when it seemed like I was not getting the results I wanted, I changed. Change didn’t really come easy. <br /><br />I almost gave up several times. However, when I looked beyond myself and became determined to succeed so that I could help other people in similar situations overcome their challenges, <br /><br />I started getting improved results. His name was Onyedikachi <br /><br />His elocution while speaking English language at that time was terrible but he was the best pupil in my class.<br /><br />Interestingly, my effective communication textbook as an undergraduate had a statement on it which reads <br /><br />\"if your audience can't comprehend what you say, then you have not communicated effectively\"<br /><br />You might assume to speak intelligently<br /><br />You might even speak with sound knowledge of the topic given<br /><br />However, if you seem to lose an audience in your communication... Then you have done poorly as a communicator.<br /><br />The reason why i share this with you reading this is because our styles are different..<br /><br />Our audience are different...<br /><br />Because someone use crude method to communicate doesn't make the person unintelligent.<br /><br />One man that serve as a model to me in this coaching industry is Olakunle Soriyan...
