Before that, I am a healer because I am human. I am alive. I grow and evolve, day after day. The first step of healing is accepting, everything. Accepting what happened, what has been felt, what is still being felt despite the many years that have passed since the original traumatic event, accepting that this event has always and will always be a part of who I am. By accepting it as a integrative part of who I am, by allowing that energy to be listened to and to be acknowledged, then we come to an agreement, and peace is made. Then growth happens. That event, if not listened to, is like a desperate friend that doesn't know where its place is. The shadow only wants to go to the light to be seen.<br /><br />What is happening now with racism has the same patterns. Some say \"Black lives matter\" is the way, others say that saying \"Black lives matter\" is dividing us even more. Others say that \"All lives matter\" is the only true message that should be shared.<br /><br />Let's be clear on one thing: what do the people really want? They want a safe place to live, a community that looks out for them and take care of them, they want to be acknowledged for who they are and for what they've been through. They want peace, social peace, peace of mind that they and their family will live on with a roof over their head, food on the table and a bright future ahead. What the world needs right now is healing in the sense of people listening to the message of frustration, anger, disappointment, chronic tiredness of not being listened to despite all the cries for help, support and love.<br /><br />So let's listen to them and then decide where to go. Meet the people where they are at, who they are at and why they are at.<br /><br />I am a healer, so, if you want me to pick a side, I'll always be on the healing side, whether that means you throw a brick at my face, whether if we cry together or if that means you hug me tight for 20 minutes. Healing is accepting everything.
