What if she can stop Diablo from killing innocent people? What if she can actually stop him from using Nyasha?’
These types of questions ran through her mind. Thelma had always followed to what Diablo might have advised her to do; she had no problem with doing his dirty job for him. But now there was something different about Nyasha and the way she graced herself. Thelma didn’t want Nyasha to be initiated in the league; she wanted to save her from being Diablo’s queen. The life Diablo lived was full of darkness and him killing people that will be bad for innocent Nyasha.
‘I am done,’ said Nyasha as she had finished nursing his wound.
‘Thank you,’ he apologized with a sweet voice.
‘You are welcome. Oh my God! I have to go,’ she said getting out of the car and Thelma immediately came out of her hiding area when she saw Nyasha getting out of the car. She had gotten lost with just staring at them and forgetting that Diablo was waiting for them inside the hotel.
Nyasha ran to her apologizing for taking long. Shane was still staring at her as she walked to the hotel with Thelma. Shane left his car parked there and walked to the hotel too. Diablo had already told Fadzai that he was waiting for Thelma who was coming with Nyasha. Fadzai had also told him that she was waiting for Shane. When Thelma walked inside with Nyasha she had already texted Diablo letting him know that they were nearby. Diablo had gone back to his table which was at the far end corner. Thank goodness they hadn’t realized what was going on or what had happened outside. Shane as he walked inside, he couldn’t stop looking around searching for Nyasha. He didn’t understand what was going on with him. Fadzai gave a wave of her hand, letting him know where she was seated. Shane just smiled and walked to her table.
‘I am sorry I am late,’ he apologized pulling the chair for himself.
‘What happened to you?’ asked Fadzai with a hint of concern in her voice.
‘Just a minor car accident but I am fine. My car is the one that got injured,’ he said jokingly.
Fadzai laughed briefly and asked him what he would like to eat. They ordered their food but Shane wasn’t up for the dinner anymore. His thoughts had drifted back to Nyasha. Just 1 thing wasn’t making sense to him. Nyasha seemed not to recognize him at all but he could clearly picture the same face at the party. It was her and he had no doubt about that but did Nyasha forget about him? That could make sense because they had seen each other once and he didn’t expect her to still remember him. He knew very well that ladies could forget easily, they were nothing compared to men. If only he knew that her memories had been erased. She was left not to remember any small detail that concerned the event of that party, the awful events.
Thelma had excused herself. She had left Nyasha with Diablo and Nyasha had been sitting opposite him quietly. She was worried about Shane and if at all he didn’t sustain any internal injuries. Diablo could sense that Nyasha was thinking about someone else but he couldn’t clearly know who the person was. Diablo always knew what was wrong with Nyasha, the two had been tied but this time around it was hard for him to know anything that was worrying her.
‘So do you go to school?’ asked Diablo breaking the silence.
He could have preferred the other personality of Nyasha, the one that had red eyes but he wanted to know her like that as well. He just asked something that he already knew, typical of him.
‘Yes, I do,’ replied Nyasha and that was it.
She couldn’t wait for Thelma to come back so that she can take her home. Thelma was already on her way home, Nyasha was spending the night with Diablo and Thelma felt guilty leaving her with him. She knew that Diablo won’t hurt her but she just hated him so much and wished it was easy to kill him. She could have killed him a long time back ago when he raped her and killed all those women in front of her. Thelma wiped away the tear that had escaped as she was driving home.
‘I am sorry,’ she said to no one in particular.
Minutes passed and the excuse Thelma made when leaving the table was that she wanted to go and make a phone call. Now Nyasha was worried about her and Diablo on the other hand was getting impatient with the real Nyasha. She hadn’t even said a word to him and he was supposed to get to know her very quickly so that he could give her the bracelet that gave her more powers.
Shane looked at Fadzai’s bracelet. From all the pictures of her that he had seen, Fadzai was wearing the same bracelet. He wanted to ask her why she always wore the bracelet. That bracelet when taken off made her very weak and none of the members knew that. Her brother had decided to instead get a ring for himself. Each ring and bracelet possessed all the spirit of all the innocent souls that they had killed. They got more power by each killing and things perfectly worked out for them for the past few years. Fadzai could notice that Shane couldn’t keep his eyes off her bracelet and that made her feel very uncomfortable.
‘The food was nice,’ said Shane breaking the awkward tension.
He could see the sudden change in her facial expression. There was something about Shane that made Fadzai feel nervous. Yes she had used the same medicine her brother used on Nyasha but it seemed as if Shane was slowly rejecting it. He was supposed to be doing something for her, things that made it look like he had been given a love portion but Shane never did those things. He made her feel nervous and his look made her tremble.
‘It was well cooked.’
‘So tell me. How old are you?’
She was definitely going to lie about her age. Fadzai was much older than Shane and only what they drank with her brother made her look very young.
‘I am 24,’ that was just a perfect lie.
Shane was 25 years old and he believed her. The lady looked very young.
‘You look much younger than your age,’ said Shane taking a sip of the champagne that had been placed on their table.
‘Do I?’
‘Trust me you do.’
That was a flutter and she blushed by his words. The two talked for a while and decided to call it a night. Fadzai volunteered to drive Shane at his house since his car had developed some problems. They walked out of the hotel and she winked at her brother who was still waiting for Nyasha to finish off what she was doing on her phone.
Thelma had told Nyasha that she had to go somewhere and that Diablo will drive her home. She didn’t like the idea of being driven home by someone who wasn’t her.
‘Well Thelma got busy. Where were we?’
Diablo smiled at this. The two hadn’t even got to know each other and she just said it as if they had been talking for ages. She had been quiet all along.
‘You never said anything.’
‘I am sorry; it’s just that I am not used to be around strangers. I know you are Thelma’s brother and I am yet to know you.’
‘It’s okay. We can take one step a time. I am not here to rush you or anything. I am here to stay.’
‘Ohhhhh.’
‘No, I mean like to stay here and getting to know you.’
‘Oh yes I get,’ she smiled brightly.
They talked for a while getting to know each other and his name was not Diablo. His name was Farai and he was an engineer. She was Nyasha, an 18 year old girl studying a degree in biochemical. Farai aka Diablo was very much impressed with everything Nyasha told her about herself. She was the right woman for him and he just couldn’t wait to make love to her. He couldn’t wait to make him his woman. The two left and by the time Diablo took her home, he had known half of the things she liked and disliked. He dropped her off at home. Nyasha walked inside. Thelma wasn’t around and he had left some dinner for her in case she needed to eat something before she sleeps.
Shane had invited Fadzai inside his house and had prepared both of them a dessert since they didn’t have one at the hotel. The two sat on the couch having their ice cream. They were watching a movie when Fadzai excused herself. She needed to go to the bathroom. This was the chance for her to have sex with Shane and so she went to the bathroom leaving her place on the table. Shane had never done what he was about to do to all the women that he brought over at his house. He felt like there was something off about Fadzai. He just had a weird feeling about her. Fadzai made a simple mistake when she left the room without her bag. Shane first checked to see if Fadzai was nearby. He took her bag and opened it. Inside the bag there was a golden ring and a bottle filled with blood. Shane took the things out of the bag and Fadzai felt weird at the bathroom. She rushed out of there and behold. She saw Shane holding her ring and the bottle with blood on the other hand. Their eyes met,
‘Who are you?’ asked Shane with a hint of confusion in his voice.
He had heard all about Satanism but this was something else. Fadzai on the other hand was confused by all of this. She was confused when she realized that the medicine wasn’t working on him anymore. Shane was now seeing things and living in reality. He wasn’t at all that much possessed.
‘You shouldn’t have touched that,’ said Fadzai and her eyes turned red.
.
.
.
Amy",
