Moral law does not end…<br /><br />John Wesley, founder of the Methodist movement; stated that these (the Ten Commandments) are instituted from the beginning of the world and are written on the hearts of all people. Interesting thought there. For interest, check out Jeremiah 31:31-34;Colossians 2:8-15; Hebrews 10:16. Verses for writing Gods law on our hearts. They all look pretty obvious and rules that are good for us. They are For us, for our good; and not Against us. The most common one people have difficulty with is the Fourth Commandment. We want to look at the reasons why (perhaps later?)and what the Bible states, also what history states why and if there are doctrinal changes or differences. The changes regarding the 4th Commandment may have other sources but they look to come from Constantine circa 325AD with Roman law, and later the CC/RCC. There are lessons in each one of these Commandments for us. We each need to inspect ourselves if we do any that we should Not do regarding the Commandments. In todays times, it could take some thought, I think.<br /><br />You know, God, in the Old Testament gave the Ten Commandments from Mount Sinai accompanied by smoke, earthquakes and the blast of a trumpet to emphasize the importance of these laws.- What is further interesting to find is that In The New Testament; the birth of the Church or Assembly of Believers was on the Same Day as what happened in the Old Testament at Sinai. For what occurred in the New Testament you can see the Book of Acts chapter 2. The Birth of the Assembly/Church, on the Day of Pentecost or Shavuot. One reason here why there was Fire above the heads of the 120 in the Upper Room. The giving of the New Covenant.<br /><br />OK, let us keep looking, and compare from what is called The Old Testament, compare to what is called The New Testament or actually New Covenant.<br /><br />FIRST COMMANDMENT ****Old Testament:<br /><br />*** You shall have no other Gods before Me.<br /><br />Taught in ****New Testament First Commandment<br /><br />****Matthew 4:10; Luke 4:8; Revelation 14:7<br /><br />Matt 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.<br /><br />Rev 14:7<br /><br />saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”<br /><br />I wont print out Each verse for space sake, but probably a couple. As was His custom, He entered the synogogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read<br /><br />*** Hebrews 4:9 Aramaic - So then, it remains for the people of God to keep the Sabbath. For whoever enters his rest (on His day) has rested from his works as God has from his own.<br /><br />Fifth Commandment Old Testament<br /><br />Honor your father and mother<br /><br />Taught in New Testament: Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in Our Lord, for this is right, 2 And this is the first commandment of promise: Honor your father and your mother, 3 and it shall be well for you and your life shall be long on The Earth<br /><br />Sixth Commandment Old Testament<br /><br />You shall not murder<br /><br />Taught in New Testament<br /><br />Matt 5:21 (Jesus speaking) You have heard that it was said to the ancients, \"Do not Murder, and whoever murders is condemned to judgement\"<br /><br />Romans 13:9 For the commandments, \"You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not covet and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: \"You shall love your neighbor as yourself\"<br /><br />Seventh Commandment Old Testament<br /><br />You shall not commit adultery<br /><br />Taught in New Testament<br /><br />Matt 5:28 (Jesus speaking) But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart<br /><br />James 2:11 For he who said \"Do not commit adultery\" also said \" Do not murder\" If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.<br /><br />Eighth Commandment Old Testament<br /><br />You shall not steal<br /><br />Taught in New Testament<br /><br />Ephesians 4:28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands so that he may have something to share with anyone in need<br /><br />James 5:4 Aramaic<br /><br />Behold, the payment of the laborers which you swindled, who have reaped your land, cries out, and the cry of the reapers has entered the ears of THE LORD JEHOVAH of Hosts.<br /><br />Ninth Commandment Old Testament<br /><br />You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor<br /><br />Taught in New Testament Luke 3:14<br /><br />Some soldiers were questioning him, saying, “And what about us, what shall we do?” And he said to them, “Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your wages.”<br /><br />Acts 6:11-14<br /><br />Then they secretly induced men to say, “We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and against God.” And they stirred up the people, the elders and the scribes, and they came up to him and dragged him away and brought him before the Council. They put forward false witnesses who said, “This man incessantly speaks against this holy place and the Law<br /><br />Tenth Commandment Old Testament<br /><br />You shall not covet<br /><br />Taught in New Testament<br /><br />Luke 12:15<br /><br />Then He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.”<br /><br />1 Thessalonians 2:5<br /><br />For we never came with flattering speech, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed—God is witness—<br /><br />------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />So now, we can now plainly see that the Apostles who had been with and learned from Jesus; practiced and taught, and Upheld the Ten Commandments throughout the New Testament aka New Covenant, that it was taught by living example and experience to the people they came in contact with, those who were of the Church named by the Book, be they Jew or Gentile. For each Commandment, I placed two different verses, because I also had in mind to have at least two witnesses to each Commandment.<br /><br />2 Peter 1:20--<br /><br />Above all, you know this: No prophecy of Scripture comes from the prophet’s own interpretation, - This is what I term as Peters Rule.<br /><br />So I have placed two witness verses for each of the Ten Commandments.<br /><br />I will conclude with a mention of Nicholas and the Nicolaitans, as his teachings go against Gods Ten Commandments or some of them.<br /><br />The Second century father, Irenaeus of Lyons wrote:<br /><br />The Nicolaitans are the followers of that Nicolas who was one of the seven first ordained to the diaconate by the apostles. He was, apparently, a proselyte or convert to Judaism from paganism, then a convert to Christianity from non believing Judaism. They, the Nicolaitans, lead lives of unrestrained indulgence (Against Heresies 1:26:3 .. / They were teaching that is a matter of indifference to practice adultery and to eat things sacrificed to idols<br /><br />The deeds of the Nicolaitans were things that God hated see Revelation 2:14-16<br /><br />It seems the Nicolaitans were big on Compromise.<br /><br />By this, we can see How Important the teaching of the Ten Commandments are for us, and how the Apostles taught them, showed them, throughout the New Testament/New Covenant. We want to remember that Gods Word, is forever settled in Heaven.<br /><br />John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”<br /><br />Mark 12:30:31 “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength;<br /><br /><br />The intent of this writing is to show how the Apostles upheld and taught the Ten Commandments as living example throughout its churches, throughout what we call the New Testament.<br /><br /><br />May God/Elohim Bless us",

Be not deceived: neither fornicators Nor Idolaters…….\n\nThird Commandment\n\nOld Testament - You shall not take the Name of the Lord your God in vain\n\nTaught in New Testament - 1 Timothy 6:1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the Name of God and His doctrine be not blasphemed\n\nJames 2:7 Do they not blaspheme that noble Name by which you are called?\n\nFourth Commandment Old Testament\n\n***Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it Holy\n\nTaught in New Testament Luke 4:16\n\n*** Then Jesus came to Nazareth where he had been brought up. As was His custom, He entered the synogogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read\n\n*** Hebrews 4:9 Aramaic - So then, it remains for the people of God to keep the Sabbath. For whoever enters his rest (on His day) has rested from his works as God has from his own.\n\nFifth Commandment Old Testament\n\nHonor your father and mother\n\nTaught in New Testament: Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in Our Lord, for this is right, 2 And this is the first commandment of promise: Honor your father and your mother, 3 and it shall be well for you and your life shall be long on The Earth\n\nSixth Commandment Old Testament\n\nYou shall not murder\n\nTaught in New Testament\n\nMatt 5:21 (Jesus speaking) You have heard that it was said to the ancients, \"Do not Murder, and whoever murders is condemned to judgement\"\n\nRomans 13:9 For the commandments, \"You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not covet and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: \"You shall love your neighbor as yourself\"\n\nSeventh Commandment Old Testament\n\nYou shall not commit adultery\n\nTaught in New Testament\n\nMatt 5:28 (Jesus speaking) But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart\n\nJames 2:11 For he who said \"Do not commit adultery\" also said \" Do not murder\" If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.\n\nEighth Commandment Old Testament\n\nYou shall not steal\n\nTaught in New Testament\n\nEphesians 4:28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands so that he may have something to share with anyone in need\n\nJames 5:4 Aramaic\n\nBehold, the payment of the laborers which you swindled, who have reaped your land, cries out, and the cry of the reapers has entered the ears of THE LORD JEHOVAH of Hosts.\n\nNinth Commandment Old Testament\n\nYou shall not bear false witness against your neighbor\n\nTaught in New Testament Luke 3:14\n\nSome soldiers were questioning him, saying, “And what about us, what shall we do?” And he said to them, “Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your wages.”\n\nActs 6:11-14\n\nThen they secretly induced men to say, “We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and against God.” And they stirred up the people, the elders and the scribes, and they came up to him and dragged him away and brought him before the Council. They put forward false witnesses who said, “This man incessantly speaks against this holy place and the Law\n\nTenth Commandment Old Testament\n\nYou shall not covet\n\nTaught in New Testament\n\nLuke 12:15\n\nThen He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.”\n\n1 Thessalonians 2:5\n\nFor we never came with flattering speech, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed—God is witness—\n\n------------------------------------------------------------------------------\n\nSo now, we can now plainly see that the Apostles who had been with and learned from Jesus; practiced and taught, and Upheld the Ten Commandments throughout the New Testament aka New Covenant, that it was taught by living example and experience to the people they came in contact with, those who were of the Church named by the Book, be they Jew or Gentile. For each Commandment, I placed two different verses, because I also had in mind to have at least two witnesses to each Commandment.\n\n2 Peter 1:20--\n\nAbove all, you know this: No prophecy of Scripture comes from the prophet’s own interpretation, - This is what I term as Peters Rule.\n\nSo I have placed two witness verses for each of the Ten Commandments.\n\nI will conclude with a mention of Nicholas and the Nicolaitans, as his teachings go against Gods Ten Commandments or some of them.\n\nThe Second century father, Irenaeus of Lyons wrote:\n\nThe Nicolaitans are the followers of that Nicolas who was one of the seven first ordained to the diaconate by the apostles. He was, apparently, a proselyte or convert to Judaism from paganism, then a convert to Christianity from non believing Judaism. They, the Nicolaitans, lead lives of unrestrained indulgence (Against Heresies 1:26:3 .. / They were teaching that is a matter of indifference to practice adultery and to eat things sacrificed to idols\n\nThe deeds of the Nicolaitans were things that God hated see Revelation 2:14-16\n\nIt seems the Nicolaitans were big on Compromise.\n\nBy this, we can see How Important the teaching of the Ten Commandments are for us, and how the Apostles taught them, showed them, throughout the New Testament/New Covenant. We want to remember that Gods Word, is forever settled in Heaven.\n\nJohn 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”\n\nMark 12:30:31 “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength;\n\n\nThe intent of this writing is to show how the Apostles upheld and taught the Ten Commandments as living example throughout its churches, throughout what we call the New Testament.\n\n\nMay God/Elohim Bless us",
