You're analyzing the board with all of the pieces, forecasting future moves and predicting how your opponent will react. The act of concentration and focus takes energy from your body. Remember back when you were at school and once you were done with a huge test you were exhausted? Same thing, so how does this tie into depression and anxiety?<br /><br />Depression is the seemingly constant focus on thoughts and experiences in the past and Anxiety is same but focused on thoughts in the future. You are in a constant state of concentration and focus on thoughts and emotions that drain your energy.<br /><br />What's the solution? Learn to notice when you're caught up in those draining thoughts and shift your attention to something else. If you are someone who constantly tells yourself that you aren't good enough, you don't deserve to be happy that life is too hard, guess what! Those are someone else's thoughts that at some point in your life you adopted and agreed with and have carried for years.⁣<br />Take a step back and NOTICE the thoughts as they rev up in your head.
