As my brother realized, focus is a tool to free ourselves from distraction. <br /> This is the essence of psychedelics and meditation, though they exist on opposite ends of a spectrum. <br />Psychedelics cause excessive stimulation, forcing the mind to focus on the present. Meditation creates a lack of information, thus inhibiting the mind from thinking of other timeframes. Either way both methods create the same result: focus.<br /> Ironically, focusing on the present moment leads to insights of other timeframes. Naturally, humans reflect on the past to prepare for the future. In reality, the past and the future are scarcely related.
