It’s all about attitude – I guess if you just look at the art and don’t know anything about him then the art, in and of itself, could be considered beautiful – but then you find out about him, and it’s hard to still like his art – because then I can see the taunting fuck you message he is sending off – if he had had an attitude of care about the images instead of being a total vampire – he basically sucked the life out of things and then spat them back out as a Polaroid.
He funded a lot of very sick people getting hooked on dope for 15 min of fame in the factory – he fed on weak people’s weaknesses – he did not uplift them – but instead he added more sickness to sickness – and surely he didn’t know any better – but Andy Warhol is like the iconic human version of what Facebook is now – YUCK. He had no aspirations to uplift or grow or be better, instead he reveled in sickness and made more of it…
Yes, the art has a certain beauty but the multiple nature of it is what makes me cringe… I was taught in art school to see beauty in everything including common artifacts of society- like a toaster or a watering can or a fork knife spoon – even a Campbell’s soup can- but he took it that one step further and debased the image- and the did the same with humans-
What did he contribute to society? Spending 3/4 of that time focussed on more important things (like healing my back) has shown good results already.\n\nSecondly – what is my best use of using social media? (or being used by it) – I have come to think that when it comes down to it, it’s mainly a way to promote my own content on www.frot.co.nz, which probably makes very little difference to the traffic but gives me the illusion that I have a growing audience. So it’s not really social at all, it’s an illusion of marketing…\n\nAnd I’m going to do that by continuing to post thousands of my images with my www.frot.co.nz URL in the corner and hope some of them go viral. Posting on multiple platforms in less than one hour a day, that will be about all I have time for. And I’ll also keep posting content on my own blog (not counting that as using social media) even if nobody looks at it, because it helps me to get my thoughts in order, and I like having galleries of my images.\n\nSo I’ll be marketing and scrap booking, while persuading my ego to let go of the idea that I’m some sort of “influencer”\n\n\nTo see this post in full with all the images go to: https://www.frot.co.nz/design/observations/seven-days-in-the-dogbox/\n\nIf you would like to see all my blog posts in full check out my WordPress blog http://www.frot.co.nz\n\nI'm also still posting (rapidly) on these platforms:\n\nBastyon - https://bastyon.com/frot\n\nBlurt - https://blurtlatam.intinte.org/@frot\n\nMinds - https://minds.com/frot\n\nGab - https://gab.com/frot\n\n#blogging",
