"content": "<p>Living in the future doesn’t completely suck.</p><p>When I was a grad student in Physics in the early 90s, I went to optics conferences and saw papers presented on OCT (optical coherence tomography) for ophthalmology. It was such a cool research topic and the potential for treating disease was immense.</p><p>Fast forward 30 years, and I get OCT on my retina, leading to a laser treatment for a retinal tear. </p><p>(I’m a little sore and things are a bit blurry, but yay! Future!)</p>",
