"name": "Palestijnse journalisten\nNogmaals de vraag: wat verstaat de bezetter onder verzet?\nIn elk geval dit: journalistiek. Op 11 mei 2022 werd in Jenin de journalist Shireen Abu Akleh door het hoofd geschoten terwijl ze verslag deed van een inval in het vluchtelingenkamp. Ze droeg een persvest en was duidelijk als journalist herkenbaar, het was op dat moment rustig, er was geen enkele reden om te schieten – tenzij je graag een beroemde Palestijnse journalist wilt doden. Ook drie andere Palestijnse journalisten werden neergeschoten.\nDe Israëlische legerwoordvoerder gaf direct na de moord zijn visie op deze journalisten: ‘Ze zijn gewapend met camera’s, als ik dat zo mag zeggen.’\nJa, dan schiet je natuurlijk. Zelfverdediging.",

Ik vond het moeilijk om die jochies te zien, en niet alleen omdat ze kort na hun interviews werden vermoord. Ik heb het moeilijk omdat ik veel liever minder machismo zie, minder stoere woorden, en ja, minder haat. Maar ik dacht ook: wees clement, Nasr. Hoe zou jij zijn, vernederd en gefrustreerd tot op het bot?\nDe waarheid is: het maakt niet uit wat ik ervan vind. Mijn morele oordeel is juist het probleem. Wij eisen telkens weer van Palestijnen dat ze zich gedragen zoals wij vinden dat ze zich moeten gedragen – in plaats van hun basisrechten na meer dan 75 jaar te honoreren. Minstens zo schokkend vond ik dat ik las dat er bij de VVD luid gejuich klonk toen bleek dat de ENIGE zetel van BIJ1 uit de TK zou verdwijnen.
