We know that narrower streets and raised crosswalks reduce speeds. We know that eliminating right on red and adding Leading Pedestrian Intervals at intersections reduces conflicts with pedestrians. We know that large vehicles are more likely to kill or seriously injure pedestrians in a crash. We know that large vehicles have blind spots making it harder to see pedestrians. </p><p>It's easy to point fingers at individuals, but road safety is a structural problem and the people with the most power to change outcomes on our streets fail to do so.</p>",
