It's very clear to me at this point that whoever invented the lead character had a lot of experience with someone twice-exceptional, but only a superficial understanding of why we are the way we are. The character is too rich to be made up out of thin air, but too shallow for the writers to have really understood it. It's also very much a highly exaggerated caricature.
