"content": "<p><span class=\"h-card\"><a class=\"u-url mention\" data-user=\"9zpx4Q2BMAIxM2p3QW\" href=\"https://spinster.xyz/users/the_trunchbull\" rel=\"ugc\">@<span>the_trunchbull</span></a></span> i’ve always kinda been like “…no one REALLY believes twaw, right?” and then a few things happened this summer:</p><ol><li>2 lesbians of my acquaintance decided they’re non-binary, one of whom was the president of our feminist council in college.</li><li>a pos guy i dated briefly in college, definite misogynist, decided he was trans/non-binary.</li><li>my 19 year old cousin, who has some developmental delays, decided she’s non-binary. when we were at the beach and she saw my non-shaved pits and legs, she said “i don’t like to do that either which is why i think i must be trans.”</li><li>jk rowling got canceled, and i read the “transphobic” essay she wrote and was terrified because i agreed with everything and was afraid that meant i was a hateful terf.</li><li>i watched a magdalen berns video, and then watched all the magdalen berns videos, and decided that even though i agreed with everything i would keep my thoughts and feelings to myself forever and live a lie among my lib fem friends by burying my head in the sand and forcing myself to never think about gender again.</li><li>after about 24 hours of that, i realized there was no escaping it. i knew what i always knew, and i can’t pretend it’s not true, even if it’s socially uncomfortable for me. because so much is at stake and trans activism isn’t neutral in the fight for women’s liberation.</li></ol>",
