We'd just like to draw the attention of all you lovely Spinsters, particularly the Brits, to a new website: <a href=\"http://repealthegra.org\" rel=\"ugc\">repealthegra.org</a> .<br><br>The aim of the website, as if you'd not guessed, is not to prevent reform of the GRA to self-ID, but to put the case for repeal of the whole thing. This is our mission statement:<br><br>*We are women who believe that our rights as women and girls to safety, privacy and dignity, and the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults, are undermined by the Gender Recognition Act (2004).<br><br>*We believe that our rights under the protected characteristic of sex in the Equality Act (2010) cannot be upheld while it is possible for some people to change their 'legal sex'.<br><br>*We believe that the practice of changing sex markers on official documents, including birth certificates and passports, prevents effective safeguarding.<br><br>*Our aim is the repeal of the Gender Recognition Act on the basis that it is incompatible with safeguarding and the rights of women and children. <br><br>We aren't an "organisation". We don't have a leader or a spokeswoman. We don't all vote the same way, live the same way or think the same way about any other issue than this one. We don't care how you vote or what you think about any other issue than this one. We aren't looking for "seats at the table": as one of our contributors puts it: we *are* the table. We are the women whose existence is being rewritten by men. And we want it to stop.<br><br>Do have a look at our website! We hope you like it.
