"content": "<p>One thing that has always bothered/confused me, is the very core of transgender theory as it relates to upholding patriarchy. </p><p>Gender is a social construct, created within patriarchy, to place males and females into social roles that prep men into dominance and women into submission.</p><p>If gender is a social construct…(meaning it is not inate, just a set of subjective rules), then how can a person even be <em>born</em> transgender in the first place? </p><p>(Gender is different in cultures all over the world anyway…are we gunna go down this slippery slope of: which race has which gender identities encoded into their DNA, now?)</p><p>Furthermore, doesn’t transgenderism validate patriarchy? Girls who like to climb trees, don’t fit within the patriarchal feminine gender role binary, but are still girls. Boys who like to play with dolls, don’t fit within their prescribed masculine gender role either, but are still boys.</p><p>Instead of amputating healthy body parts in an attempt to match fake, oppressive, social ideals…Shouldn’t gender instead be completely abolished from society? Men and women can wear and do whatever they want and still be men and women.</p>",
