"content": "I was curious if TERV actually meant anything other than as an acronym. I was asked to share what I have found so far, so here it is. Etymology is just an amusing hobby for me, so if you find anything else interesting, or something that needs correcting please add to this.<br><br>Terv<br>Votic (proto-Finnish) it means<br>1. healthy <br>2. whole, unbroken, sane.<br>It also was used as an interjection to say “hello”. <br><br>Finnish = Hi<br>Estonian, and Hungarian = plan, project, purpose<br>---------------------------------------------------------------<br>Ter<br>Old English = tri (like tivet)<br>From Latin ter = thrice<br>Tervalent - an older variant of the chemistry term Trivalent. <br>[L. ter, thrice, and valent meaning strengths.<br>Tersanctus – Thrice Holy <br>(Aside from the religious connotations "sanctus" can also mean chaste, consecrated, pure, virtuous, or venerable.)<br>--------------------------------------------------------------<br>Terve<br>Finnish = Hey, or Cheers!<br>Estonian, and Hungarian = Healthy<br>-------------------------------------------------------------<br>Tervetadah = welcome<br>Terve järki = Common sense<br>In Finnish, Estonian, and Hungarian.",
