Did your childhood affect the way you write / what you write?</p><p>Had to have. First, I came from a highly literate family. Words were very important. I would have lengthy talks with my mother about the finer means of words and we loved looking things up in the Partridge Entomological dictionary.</p><p>Second, my experience as a trans person growing up in a hostile world had colored my vision of the world. My characters reflect this, none of them reach adulthood without scars.
