Why, these flowers are only common garlic.”<br>“when she was in bed he came and himself fixed the wreath of garlic round her neck.”(虽然这里写的是 garlic,但是从后文看得出来其实是指 garlic flower: “I found that Lucy had moved slightly, and had torn away the garlic flowers from her throat.”)<br>“It struck me as curious that the moment she became conscious she pressed the garlic flowers close to her.”<br>“where Lucy lay in her coffin, strewn with the wild garlic flowers,”<br>更神奇的是,我上网查了一下 wild garlic, 发现竟然是德国常见的 Bärlauch??季节到了大家都会摘回家做点叶子菜的那种。所以不知道吸血鬼怕大蒜到底是怕那个味道还是气味就够了,不过应该是同一种物质。我不知道蒜花什么味道,但是葱花和葱是一个味道…<br>虽然是吸血鬼小说的鼻祖,但是吸血鬼怕大蒜的传说应该是先于 Dracula 的,有变种也不奇怪。而且 Dracula 里面吸血鬼大白天都可以出没,后世的小说里吸血鬼就开始变成怕阳光的夜行动物了。</p>",
