the first thing to notice is that a *negative* goal leads nowhere. let's use *The Shawshank Redemption* to help get at what i mean. it wouldn't have been enough for Andy Dufresne to simply get on the outside of Shawshank Prison. aimless, he would have simply been picked up eventually and re-absorbed into the prison. nay, rather Andy Dufresne *had a vision* for his future. remember what it was? he was gonna go open some resort on the Pacific Coast and fix up some old boat that he might take people out on it and show them a good time.
