In this regard, the Jewish system has a millennia-long track record of viability which makes it appropriate to analyze using these terms. <br/><br/>According to Beer&#39;s model, there are five sub-systems that make up every viable system:<br/>Systems 1-3 are the &#39;here and now&#39; focused part of the system. They execute the day-to-day operations of the system.<br/><br/>System 1: The primary activity centers of the system. System 1 builds and perpetuates the larger system. In a factory, this would be the individual assembly lines or operations departments.<br/><br/>System 2: The information channels between System 1 entities and System 3. These are the basic communication channels which feed information between the primary operations entities and the coordinating system.<br/><br/>System 3: The operations coordination system. This system receives the information generated by System 1 and transmitted by System 2. It is responsible for coordinating resources and functions between System 1 entities. Represents the &#39;Big Picture&#39; view of System 1 processes.<br/><br/>Systems 4-5 are disconnected from day-to-day operations and instead focus on long-term strategy and planning.<br/><br/>System 4: The elements which look outside the system and monitor the external environment. Their job is to keep the decision making parts of the system up to date on external threats and opportunities.<br/><br/>System 5: The executive body of the system. This entity synthesizes the internal data from System 3 with the external data from System 4 and steers the organization accordingly. <br/><br/>With that said, this schizo-diagram shows all the systems together, along with the recursive nature of the model.
