"content": "📍 Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu, India. <br />\n<br />\nThe Shoolagiri hike is 40 minutes away from Attibele toll plaza near Bangalore. Shoolagiri is named after the 3 peaks visible from far, resembling a trident 🔱 (= shoolam). The trail starts from a water tower near a temple. It's difficult to find parking so you might have to park way down in town. The trail first takes you to a small shrine; the caretakers were surprised to see us since they don't usually get visitors other than the locals. They offered us some of their lunch and water and told us which way to go to reach the middle peak. The southeastern peak needs you to go behind the shrine and looks inaccessible from this trail.<br />\nSo we turned left to reach the middle peak. The big boulder is the middle tine's peak and is nearly vertical without footholds so we could only reach just below it. We saw some of the local kids playing there although it's a bit dangerous. On the other side of the hill you can see farm and forest. You can also see the northern prong with a small building on top. We thought the north peak was inaccessible too but found a path through the shrubs and managed to actually reach the top of the peak. We saw that the building lay in ruin but somebody near the middle peak boulder saw us here and was inspired to find the route himself! <br />\n<br />\nOverall it's an easy hike apart from the steep section and I love the views!
