"content": "Our Heritage Christmas Tree 2023

I made 40 Lantern Light Caps with jumbo foil cupcake liners, silver shimmer and black gloss cardstock, cut by hand with exacto blade.

The photos show what was my original set. The top row of 5 designs starting with the classic swastika (on left) are a set of x5 for each design. Then I made 8 single designs. I got them up in the tree and realized the set made a total of 33. (no jewmerology numbers for me thanks) So back to the drawing board to make another 7 designs for a total set of 40 handmade pieces. Within the set is a nod to our nationalities with that countries fascist symbol. I also included a nod to Mosley and Murdoch Murdoch. The "Salute" design is the outline of Hitler himself from a photo. The "Eagle" design was based on a historical NSDAP stick pin. They simply fit by unplugging a bulb, inserting it through the center hole, then plugged back in.

All of the glass ornaments are sets that belonged to my Great-Grandmother, my Grandmother, a set I rescued from an abandoned house many years ago, a handmade cross stich set made by my husband's sister, my Grandmother's tree skirt, and the one and only tree topper I've ever bought, for my first tree on my own at 19. (I'm currently fixing my husband's families antique nativity set, replacing the old damaged background picture with a new scene.)

These pics really don't do it justice! The illuminated light caps are warm & soft which is hard to capture in photography with my phone.

*edit: There are additional photos and construction detail below for those who want to see the base inserts and bulb placement.",
