"content": "<p>I joined Twitter in May 2008 after a conversation with a reporter at BusinessWeek who told me I would love the site. </p><p>I was in PR at the time, and fresh out of my academic career (was a comms prof for a few yrs), and immediately saw its promise.</p><p>It's so sad watching it crumble in real time. Can't say I grew up there, as I was already in my 30s, but I made friends & got jobs (even lost a few) bc of it.</p><p>It was a good time. </p><p>But here we are now, so hello new friends, and new beginnings.</p>",
