The most striking aspect of the flower is it hundreds of filaments that point out from the center. The filaments are mostly lavender in color with a dark purple stripe, near the center of the flower and a few white stripes. The filaments become faded white towards the tips. the light is strong, so that the filament cast little black shadows on the leaves behind it. \nThe center is purple with large yellow hanging anthers that make it look like there is a connected yellow circle. The styles are dotted purple with yellow tips.
