"content": "<p>Since we’re on the subject of <a href=\"https://mastodon.social/tags/Gnome\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>Gnome</span></a> today, their potential stopping support for X Window in a year or so makes sense.</p><p>X is legacy and in maintenance mode, if I remember correctly, and <a href=\"https://mastodon.social/tags/Wayland\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>Wayland</span></a> is meant to be its successor.</p><p>Wayland has been around for a very long time now, has modern features X lacks, is more secure, and it is very stable and well supported in Gnome.
