If there was a credible alternative to macOS on a laptop that gets all the basics right, I’d jump on it. A <a href=\"https://mastodon.social/tags/Linux\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>Linux</span></a> <a href=\"https://mastodon.social/tags/desktop\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>desktop</span></a> isn’t it. <a href=\"https://mastodon.social/tags/HiDPI\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>HiDPI</span></a> support is inconsistent, while external monitor support, suspend-and-resume and power optimization are all hacky at best. <a href=\"https://mastodon.social/tags/Trackpad\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>Trackpad</span></a> support is plain bad. I don’t want to have to be a mechanic to drive a car.</p>",
