In fact it's possible that when imported from China, the characters '神無' were only used for their phonetic value.</p><p>And so at first the 10th month was probably actually known as 'Kamiarizuki' (神有月), the 'Month With Gods' (who met annualy at Izumo-taisha in Izumo Province).</p>",
