It’s undoubtedly too cute and <a href=\"https://mastodon.social/tags/cozy\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>cozy</span></a> for most, but I’m finding the characters enjoyable.</p><p>It is, though, maintaining the conceit that the MC is a notorious young curmudgeon and socially ill equipped when, in fact, he’s warm and funny and charms pretty much everyone. It’s as if the author has this Sherlock Holmes idea of the consulting mage/detective, but doesn’t have it in her to write unpleasant people. She does have her cozy niche down, though. 😁👍</p><p> <a href=\"https://mastodon.social/tags/bookstodon\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>bookstodon</span></a></p>",
