"name": "Les ravages des faux souvenirs ou la mémoire manipulée de Brigitte Axelrad\n\nL'objectif de ce livre est de répondre de façon claire et pédagogique aux patients, aux familles, aux professionnels, aux juristes qui s'interrogent sur les thérapies dites de la mémoire retrouvée (TMR) et sur leurs conséquences destructrices pour tous ceux qui en sont victimes.\n\nLes « ravages des faux souvenirs » ont commencé à sévir dans les années 80 aux États-Unis. Une association de défense des familles et des patients pris dans la tourmente des TMR s'est créée en 1992, à Philadelphie. Fondée par Pamela Freyd, elle a été rejointe par de nombreux chercheurs, professeurs d'universités, journalistes d'investigation. Les recherches et les publications scientifiques, ainsi que les nombreux procès intentés contre leurs thérapeutes et gagnés par des patients appelés «retractors», parce que revenus sur leurs accusations, ont contribué à faire reculer cette véritable «guerre des souvenirs», désignée ainsi à cause de l'âpre controverse entre ceux qui reconnaissaient le «syndrome des faux souvenirs» et ceux qui le niaient.\n\nCe livre ne parle pas des cas d'inceste avérés contre lesquels une lutte déterminée est nécessaire. Véritable «Chandelle dans les ténèbres», ce livre tente d'éclairer les ravages des «faux souvenirs retrouvés en thérapie» vingt à trente ans après que les faits incriminés sont supposés s'être produits, alors même qu'il n'existe aucune corroboration indépendante de leur existence. ",
