"name": "A young performance artist dressed in black cardigan and blouse threads from frame’s left to right along a river bank covered by dense grass. She is gazing down and her arms hang passively. What we actually see is her reflection on the water, which was photographed from the opposite bank so as to present the final photo upside down. Surface ripples distort the artist’s silhouette and all background, where we see a part of a yellow 19th century building with three windows in the frame.\n\nThe artist is seen up to chest height against the yellow wall between the leftmost and middle windows. The bluish tin roof gives a background to her head, neck and shoulders, but a white ledge under its edge draws a stabbing line on and behind her heart level. Below it a pebble thrown into the water has formed an oval of circular ripples between her and a slightly away tilting lamp-post near the right end of the building. The level bank starts rising into a slight uphill ahead of the sombre silhouette.\n\nThe reflection of the real bank below the frame area shows green grass on top but below it we only see a gloomy shade. It is cut by the reflection of a large stone in the middle. Fluff from nearby larches float along the river surface, but in the reflection they seem to be floating magically in the air. The wavy distortion is minimal on the bank level, but above it everything seems fluttery and unreal. The stricken appearance of our skilful artist gives the image a gloomy and menacing mood.",

"name": "A dark clad young performance artist kneels facing to the left of us on what may be a shady river bank covered by dense grass. Her palms are pressed against the ground and her all but black silhouette takes up most of the frame’s right side. What we actually see is her reflection on the water, which was photographed from the opposite bank so as to present the final photo upside down. The intentionally caused ripples reach the reflection of the subject and the background on the opposite side in more or less horizontal waves in the frame, and all distorted vertical lines wiggle across it like snakes going up and down.\n\nThe mostly dark silhouette of the artist does not show variation in its lightless reflection, so it seems quite rigid compared to everything in the brightly lit background, where wavy lines hint to a yellow building with white window frames and possibly some foliage and a lamp-post in front. The whirly upper right corner shows fluctuating sky-blue stripes. The artist’s head and hair are seen in lighter shades, so their ferflection is likewise more strongly distorted and as if disintegrating infront of us. On the left we see the vibrating silhouettes of two signs of some sort on maybe knee-high poles and side by side. They are either facing her or not, and she appears to be looking at them or not, or she could also be looking over the edge on which she’s kneeling. Our view to her shaken and crumbling world just leaves us baffled and unsure of anything in there.",
