After thirty years as a university teacher and researcher, I’m on here primarily to learn - from toilers in my own discipline (<a href=\"https://mas.to/tags/histodons\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>histodons</span></a>), in cognate areas, and from further afield - and also to share aspects of my own work and wider interests. This is how I innocently began on the other platform, but the toxic, divisive politics of the last decade steadily took over my feed. That I don’t intend to let that happen on here as well will influence who I follow and boost.</p>",
