The rise was fueled by an excellent jobs report: April payroll numbers were <strong>up</strong>, exceeding expectations. The index now stands above the level where the market closed on March 10. The index is up more than 12 percent from where it was 12 months ago.</p><p>The market now stands about 5 percent below the level on the last trading day before Trump’s inauguration. It didn’t work. It never does. The accusers have not been identified.</p><p>Brand, who remarried after his divorce from Katy Perry and now has three children, <a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/p/CxOooOsIGXd/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">denied</a> the allegations and stressed that all of his relationships have been consensual. Economists had expected private employers to add just 125,000 workers. This was nearly unchanged from the downwardly revised 170,000 jobs added in March.</p><p>The labor market drew in more workers, growing the supply of labor in April. The participation rate rose to 62.6 percent from 62.5 in the previous month. The number of people employed in the month rose by 436,000 to 163,944,000.</p><p>The average workweek expanded to 34.3 hours from 34.2 hours, a sign that employer demand for labor grew in the month. Average hourly earnings rose 0.3 percent. The index now stands above the level where the market closed on March 10. The index is up more than 12 percent from where it was 12 months ago.</p><p>The market now stands about 5 percent below the level on the last trading day before Trump’s inauguration. It didn’t work. It never does. The accusers have not been identified.</p><p>Brand, who remarried after his divorce from Katy Perry and now has three children, <a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/p/CxOooOsIGXd/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">denied</a> the allegations and stressed that all of his relationships have been consensual. deep” into the votes of both the governing Labour Party and official opposition the Conservatives, who he said Reform was now supplanting. </p><p>Crucially, the party won major contests against both UK legacy political parties, underlining Farage’s claim that Reform is not merely a force on the right but something above the old dividing lines drawing support from both the old sides.</p><p>The most visible result nationally will be Reform having won a new Member of Parliament, with Sarah Pochin taking the Runcorn and Helbsy race in a byelection (special election) that was called after its incumbent, Labour politician Mike Amesbury, <a href=\"https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2024/10/27/cctv-footage-appears-to-show-labour-mp-sucker-punching-man-on-street/\">was filmed repeatedly punching a constituent</a> after drinking six pints of beer. </p><p>The race was astonishingly close, with Labour demanding a recount in hope of overturning the first result, but eventually losing out by just six votes.</p><p>This victory for Farage’s Pochin is remarkable not just for how tight a race it was — the BBC <a href=\"https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c39jedewxp8t\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">says</a> it is the closest byelection result in modern British history — but also for what an enormous Labour majority was destroyed by Reform to get the win. </p><p>It is one of the safest seats ever overturned in a byelection, with Labour’s result collapsing from a commanding 53 per cent in the last national elections, allowing Reform to swing form 18 to 38 per cent, unchanged at 4.2 percent. The prior month’s jobs figure was revised down to 185,000 from 228,000</p><p>The strength in hiring came from the private sector, which added 167,000 jobs. Economists had expected private employers to add just 125,000 workers. This was nearly unchanged from the downwardly revised 170,000 jobs added in March.</p><p>The labor market drew in more workers, growing the supply of labor in April. The participation rate rose to 62.6 percent from 62.5 in the previous month. The number of people employed in the month rose by 436,000 to 163,944,000.</p><p>The average workweek expanded to 34.3 hours from 34.2 hours, a sign that employer demand for labor grew in the month. Average hourly earnings rose 0.3 percent.
