Without a firm understanding of the fundamentals true respect and vision will be hard to come by. But the human and institutional aspects of cybersecurity are critical to understand as well. Tough to pick up from textbooks and lectures, and even mentoring to a certain extent, it comes with time, experience, and empathy. Keeping in mind that the only fully secure system is one that doesn't do anything, being able to think about vulnerabilities, threats, risks, and trade-offs is part of leading cybersecurity and truly advising your organization.</p>",
