"content": "<p><span class=\"h-card\" translate=\"no\"><a href=\"https://chaos.social/@slothrop\" class=\"u-url mention\">@<span>slothrop</span></a></span> Pope Francis is on a world tour, and has arrived in London. 2 million Catholics turn out in London for him, he's in the popemobile waving, smiling and generally being Popey.</p><p>After the event is finished, he's being driven away and with a heavy heart lets out an almighty sigh.</p><p>"What's up, Your Holiness?" says his chauffeur from the front.</p><p>"Well Bob, I've been in this car being paraded around like a performing monkey for ages, and I'm a little sick of it. Once, just once, I'd love to actually have a drive. I've always loved cars"</p><p>"Well", says Bob, "there's nothing to stop you having a drive if you like. We're away from the crowds, go for it if you'd like to. You're the Pope, after all."</p><p>"Bob, that would be great. Thank you. But, there's only room down there for one. Where are you going to sit?"</p><p>"If you don't mind, I'll sit where you are now"</p><p>So, off they go. The Pope is loving it, he's finally got his chance to get behind the wheel, and he is away. Faster and faster, cornering with more and more speed until eventually the inevitable happens, and sirens come from behind.</p><p>The officer stops them, walks over to the car, takes a look at the occupants and excuses himself back to the patrol car, where he gets straight on the radio to the station.</p><p>"Erm, sir? I've made a routine traffic stop for speeding, and I think I've pulled over someone very important. Like, really important"</p><p>"What are you talking about", comes the response. "How important?"</p><p>"Well, and I don't want to sound ridiculous here, but I think it's God."</p><p>"God?! What do you mean 'God'? What makes you think that?"</p><p>"He's got the fucking Pope as his chauffeur."</p>",
