"content": "<p>It occurs to me that I haven't done a proper <a href=\"https://hcommons.social/tags/introduction\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>introduction</span></a> on this new instance! My formal job title is Director of Digital Humanities and Professor of English at Michigan State University, but alongside that I also direct <a href=\"https://hcommons.social/tags/MeshResearch\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>MeshResearch</span></a>, a lab focused on building open-source interoperable tools for new forms of scholarly communication. I'm also director of <a href=\"https://hcommons.social/tags/HumanitiesCommons\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>HumanitiesCommons</span></a>, a scholarly network serving something like 50,000 users across the humanities and around the world.* And of course I'm one of your friendly neighborhood hcommons.social admins.</p><p>My <a href=\"https://hcommons.social/tags/research\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>research</span></a> interests circulate around the future of <a href=\"https://hcommons.social/tags/scholarlyCommunication\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>scholarlyCommunication</span></a>, as one component of thinking about how <a href=\"https://hcommons.social/tags/universities\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>universities</span></a> might become more <a href=\"https://hcommons.social/tags/open\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>open</span></a>, more <a href=\"https://hcommons.social/tags/generous\" class=\"mention hashtag\" rel=\"tag\">#<span>generous</span></a> spaces for cultural and intellectual work.
