"content": "<p>至於臺灣，也是不適用這種「自給自足」的說法。清代臺灣的米出口一樣很旺盛，而林文凱老師在〈再論清代臺灣開港以前的米穀輸出問題〉一文也指出，儘管1840年後，洋米影響了臺灣米出口的銷量，但米出口仍然是臺灣很重要的項目，直到1895年，仍然中國華南重要的米穀基地，不過是被「茶、糖、樟腦」的色彩掩蓋而已。</p><p>當然，根據古慧雯老師近日整理整理契約資料的價格，在與洋米競爭之下，臺灣地價有下滑，但這不正是出於開港競爭不如人，而非是閉關自守嗎？</p><p>以金融來說，競爭對手的緬甸伊洛瓦底江農民，在金融有遮地銀行（我有撰文寫過），而臺灣要到1905年才有本土的商業銀行開是於彰化跟嘉義。以交通來說，日治時期，縱貫鐵路開通由葉高華老師的文章證明了對於全臺的農業產出有巨大的影響。我現在著墨的肥料，也同時有受到鐵路跟商業銀行的影響。</p>",
