Wordpieces are what they say they are: bits of words. They are linguistically ugly because they don’t respect morphology. But they have the advantage that they can be learned via a machine learning process. You can train a model to find an optimal set of n wordpieces that will account for most text content in a particular language. Our n is set at 16,000. /2</p>",
