"name": "「結婚」とは、一体何だろうか？\n 人生のゴール？ 永遠の約束？ それとも、今を生き抜くための生存戦略？\n「未婚が許されない」という時代は過去のものになりつつある。しかしながら今でもなお、「結婚しないよりはしないほうが……」という意識は多くの人が持っているものなのではないだろうか。\n 実際のところ、二〇二三年の生涯未婚率は男性が二八・二五パーセント、女性が一七・八五パーセントであり、生涯に一度も結婚を経験しない人は少数だ。\n そんな現在において「私は絶対結婚しない」と豪語し、友人の結婚式に出席すれば自分に飛んできたブーケを避けてしまい、無残にも地面に落とす。パンクな主人公のドラマが、二〇二四年秋、ひそかに放送されていた。日本テレビ発のドラマ『若草物語―恋する姉妹と恋せぬ私―』だ。\n ドラマ『若草物語』は、ルイーザ・メイ・オルコットの名作小説『若草物語』を現代日本を舞台に翻案した作品である。単に舞台を現代日本に移しただけでなく、現代日本で『若草物語』を描き直すにあたって社会性をふんだんに盛り込んだ意欲作だった。\n 日本テレビの公式ホームページにはこんなキャッチコピーが掲載されている。\n\n ２０２４年。果たして幸せに恋愛は必要か？\n きまじめ長女、がむしゃら次女、おっとり三女、したたか四女\n 四者四様の幸せを追いかける\n 社会派シスターフッドコメディー\n\n 本作の主人公・町田涼(まちだりょう)は四姉妹の次女であり、かつては脚本家を夢見ていたが、今は映像制作会社でドラマの助監督をしている。「結婚しない」ことを公言しているが、ドラマ制作の現場でも逃れがたい恋愛至上主義に強い違和感を覚え、抗おうとする。\n 他の姉妹たちも現代日本風のアレンジがされており、長女の恵(めぐみ)はハローワークで働く非正規公務員、四女の芽(めい)は服飾の専門学校に通っている。三女の衿(えり)は役者を目指していたが、二年前に失踪したきり、行方不明になっている。\n「幸せに恋愛は必要か？」「社会派シスターフッドコメディー」と銘打ったコピーを目にした時から、期待値が跳ね上がる半面、わたしは不安も覚えていた。「これで恋愛・結婚エンドだったらどうしよう？」「『社会派』とぶちあげているけれど、中途半端だったらがっかりだな」と。\n 特に「恋愛しない」「結婚しない」というストーリーが創作物の中で描かれる時、交際や結婚を望まないＡロマンティック・Ａセクシュアル当事者であるわたしは身構えがちだ。今までＡＲＯ／ＡＣＥ（Ａロマンティック・Ａセクシュアルスペクトラム）が描かれても、最終的にその人々が「歩み寄って」あるいは「成長して」恋愛などの枠に収まり、「ハッピーエンド」で終わる作品というのをいくつも見てきた。\n ＡＲＯ／ＡＣＥの仲間に作品を紹介する時も、「ここの展開はちょっとアレだけど……」と注意書きを添えないといけないことも多かった。だが本作は、胸を張って友人知人におすすめできる「〝超〟恋愛・結婚ストーリー」に仕上がっていたと思う。\n\n ■前口上に恥じぬ社会派ストーリー\n\n 恋愛・結婚にまつわる部分に関してはあとでじっくり書くけれど、それ以外にも「おっ」と思う部分が目白押しだった。たとえば非正規公務員が職場内で受けるハラスメントを扱った長女のストーリーはそのひとつだ。\n 恵は非正規公務員として、ハローワークで働いている。正規職員の男性と恋愛関係にあり、結婚を前提にした真摯な付き合いを望んでいるが、相手の態度は煮え切らない。\n （以下略）",
