We could all actually do far more "normal" stuff if we'd just actively respond to the pandemic (wear masks, ventilate/install air purifiers indoors and make it easy for people to quarantine when sick, while also properly tracking the virus so we can respond appropriately to cut transmission). If we'd put air purifiers in schools at the start of the pandemic and worn masks we might be closer to controlling it at this point and not gotten to the point where the medicines we've come up with are being rendered useless or less effective. We need to slow the virus down so we can try to catch up to it.</p>",

The racism (or other knds o bigotry) isn't in the noticing of difference, it's in the assigning negative value to someone based on their difference. That's shit you do AFTER you notice the difference.</p>",

A for-profit prison system is even weirder and more antisocial than for-profit medicine. It really is very much a system that reveals how it's built on slavery and profiteering.
