"content": "
Informal poll / discussion for screen reader users, (and not a real poll because all of you Tweesecake and TWBlue users will be left out):
When contacting support to report an accessibility issue, do you identify your disability in the e-mail or do you just mention that you use a screen reader? My assumption is that most people have no idea what a screen reader is, so they will probably have to Google it.
However, the same people who have no idea about screen readers are going to see "I'm blind and can't use your product" and their immediate thought is going to be "Well, duh." So sometimes I wonder if making them dig a little to figure out the issue--which is hardly difficult when I mention screen readers and accessibility--is not such a bad thing.
Most likely none of this matters and i'm just making people do extra work, but if some small wording change causes fewer people to suggest that I ask a sighted neighbour to configure something for me, I'll take it.
Thoughts?
",
